LUCIS PUNCTA  [2015]

LUCIS PUNCTA (NIGRUM QUADRATUM) and LUCIS PUNCTA (ALBUM QUADRATUM)

Silver gelatin print (unique photogram), 520 mm X 520 mm X 45 mm (framed), ed. 1/1

LUCIS PUNCTA is part of the LUX PROJECT, a series of ‘cameraless photographic’ explorations that challenge the veracity of the photographic image. Relying on the indexical characteristics of photographic analogue processes, these works attempts to create images that remain faithful to the indexical and ‘documentary’ qualities of the photographic, and simultaneously create images that verge on abstraction. These works seek to engage the relationship between the materiality of analogue photography and perceptions of light as an expression of time.
